The Jive Aces, world’s premier Jive band and
Friends of Camelot Castle, were thrilled to make it through to the semi finals
of Simon Cowell's Britain's Got Talent.
“It was a very much deserved triumph for a group of excellent
musicians.” said their friend John Mappin.”All their friends here at Camelot were
as thrilled as they were.”
John Mappin, the newspaper publisher co-owns Camelot CastleHotel in Cornwall, with his wife Irina Mappin and the famed artist Ted Stourton.
But now the Jive Aces and the
team at Camelot Castle have cause to be doubly thrilled because, following
their exposure to 19 million viewers of the show, they have been chosen to play
for Her Majesty the Queen as part of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations in
Bromley South London.
The yellow suited band were described by judge Aleisha Dixon as "a ray of sunshine" and " a world class act" and even put Simon Cowell in a good mood.

They beat no less than 60,000
other acts to get through to the semi finals of what has been described as the
most watched talent show on Earth.
The band’s Kiwi sax player John Fordham said: "We initially entered the show because
part of the prize for the winner was to perform on the Royal Variety Show which
was a dream for us . . . We didn't win
the show but our dream has come true and we have played for the Queen
anyway!"
The Jive Aces initially caught the eye of Britain's Got Talent researchers who saw them play at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland, although they have long been known to many for the pure entertainment of their lively and up-beat performances that are apt to put a smile on virtually anyone’s face.
They have a music video, “Bring Me Sunshine”, which has become a viral hit with nearly 2 million views on YouTube and has won a The International Telly Award as well as a number of film festival awards.
